Sam graduated from Flinders University in 2006, with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws/Legal Practice (Hons). During his studies, Sam volunteered his services at a Community Legal Centre, and the Young Workers Legal Service. Prior to joining EMA Legal, Sam worked in the dispute resolution and employment relations teams of a national law firm.
Sam commenced with EMA Legal in October 2012 and works across all of the firm’s practice areas. Sam provides pragmatic, commercial advice to employers on a range of employment law issues, including in relation to: compliance with and interpretation of the Fair Work Act 2009 and National Employment Standards, award and agreement interpretation, employment contracts and workplace policies, termination of employment (including restructures), employee misconduct and performance management, restraints of trade and transfers of business.
In 2016, Sam was identified in the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as a “Rising Star” in employment law.
